What's Up With Linux? Okay, so if you're not a Linux user, you probably don't know much about it. You might not know why you'd want to bother with it or even how to get it. This page should help you out. I'll be listing off some typical questions about Linux. This page has the short answers and you can follow the links for the long ones. :) What Is Linux? A free operating system and software. Why Use Linux? It's free (in both senses of the word). It's complete. It's productive. It's customizable. How Do I Get Linux? From popular distribution sites. It depends on what you're looking for, but I recommend Ubuntu (more Linuxy by default) or Kubuntu (more Windowsy by default - I prefer this). What Software Do You Use?
